About Pastor Al Jandl

Sunday mornings at Living Stones you can see a miracle in motion. That miracle is Pastor Al Jandl, who at 32 years of age met Jesus Christ and began a whole new life. Now God uses him to minister healing, transformation and victory to others.

Pastor Al’s Story

Alcoholism, family violence and rejection were realities in Al Jandl’s childhood. Before he was born again, he experienced more destruction and heartache than most experience in a lifetime. Hopelessness manifested in dangerous thrill-seeking, drinking and fighting. By 1972, he had married four times and had several children.

While working as a grocery store manager, he was shot in the head during an attempted robbery. He had an out-of-body experience and, in the moments that followed, asked God to give him another chance at life.

A few years later, as his fourth marriage was disintegrating before his eyes, he sat on the side of his bed with a gun in his hand, determined to end his life. He asked God to keep him from hell and began to pray.

That’s when it happened—he experienced God’s presence in a powerful way. He ran to the kitchen and threw away his alcohol and cigarettes and ran into his driveway yelling, “This is the happiest day of my life!” His circumstances had not changed, but Al Jandl had.

The rest of the story is about the power of God to transform us into victorious people. God called him to preach just two years later in 1974. He founded Living Stones Church in Alvin, Texas in 1975.

Living Stones Church called several buildings home from 1975-1978 when, with God’s supernatural help,  the church moved to an all new, much larger facility on Victory Lane.  One unique thing about the church is that members never had “mortgage burning” because they never had a mortgage to burn – each stage of the progress was paid for by the membership.

The number of people making Living Stones Church their “home” kept increasing until another sanctuary became necessary.  The present 3,000-seat sanctuary was completed in August of 1986.

As growth continued an entire new new children’s and nursery wing had to be added.  The old sanctuary has been changed into a gymnasium so that the school is now able to have a full athletic program.

Pastor Al Jandl Preaching

Pastor Al has built Living Stones and its ministries into a strong and stable, family-focused congregation. His attention to the supernatural power of God makes his ministry unique and relevant to every generation. Today Living Stones’ 280-acre campus houses the church and its numerous ministries, Victory Camp, Living Stones PreK-12 Christian School and Precious Stones Daycare.

Living Stones Church archives Pastor Al‘s sermons on its webpage to communicate God’s message of hope to those who are far off and those who are near.

God uses Pastor Al to speak to the body of Christ about the future of the corporate church. Over the past few years, he has gained exciting revelation of the mystery of the Gospel that has prepared Living Stones for the work God is doing in the church. Pastor Al truly believes that God’s plan of bringing His people “… To the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” is truly a promise we can believe in and act on today.

God is still restoring life for (and through) Al Jandl. The life that was destined to fail has been transformed by a God who doesn’t want any to perish.  Currently Pastor Al and his wife Judy Jandl have two daughters and seven grandchildren.
